School Uniform

Willowdown Primary has a uniform of which we are proud. The uniform is practical, economical and emphasises the school policy, that uniform plays a valuable role in creating an identity and community, instilling a high sense of identity and personal pride in appearance. Please contact the school if you are struggling to buy uniform for financial reasons and we will be happy to help you out.

Uniform- Autumn, Winter and Spring Terms (November-April)

Long black trousers (no leggings) – boys/girls
Grey or black skirts/pinafores
White polo shirt, with or without logo
Maroon school sweatshirt or cardigan with or without logo
Sensible black shoesAt all

Summer and Autumn Terms (April-October)

Maroon check dress
White polo shirt
Grey or black shorts, skirt or pinafore
Maroon school sweatshirt or cardigan with or without logo

PE Kit

For P.E. sessions the children come into school, dressed in their PE kit. This consists of:

White round-neck T-shirt (not polo shirts)
Black Shorts
In Autumn/Winter, children may prefer to wear plain black tracksuit bottoms or plain black leggings instead of shorts
Suitable daps or trainers (please note these must be Velcro, if they can’t tie their laces and no ‘high top’ trainers allowed)
A separate plain black or burgundy round-neck jumper (no zips or hoods)

During PE lessons, children are not allowed to wear jewellery of any kind, including earrings so please ensure these can be removed or are taped over. Long hair must be tied up.

All clothing items should be clearly named to avoid loss or confusion with other children.

Forest School

Children are to come school dressed ready for Forest School, wearing clothes that are suitable for getting dirty and muddy at times. A clearly named pair of wellington boots or additional pair of old shoes and a rain coat to be brought in for the wetter and colder months.

Jewellery and Hair

No jewellery should be worn at school. Only one individual or pair of ear studs are acceptable, but these should be covered during P.E. lessons.

Hair longer than shoulder length should be kept tied back.

Help with uniform and second hand uniform

Should you find that you need help or assistance with uniform, we are here for you. Please contact Maryjane Weller or Sam Gardner via the school office and they will do all they can to help. We also take donations of school uniform that is in good condition. This will allow us to pass it on to families who need it. If you have any uniform you no longer need, please pass this on to the school office.
